Webinar with a startup founder, Sara Schmitt, NYC panel invite, plus roommate finder for Fall 2025 students
This week’s update is packed: we’re hosting a live Q&A with a U.S. fintech founder, launching a roommate finder for Fall 2025 students, planning a panel talk in NYC, and remote job openings for talent in Pakistan.
Hi Dreamers!
Hope you’re staying cool (literally and metaphorically) — quick updates from my side 👇

🎙️LIVE Q&A THIS SUNDAY — MONEY, CAREERS & NETWORKING (BEFORE YOU LAND in the US)

Most students figure out banking, resumes, and networking after they get to the U.S. — when it’s already stressful.
I’m hosting a live Q&A this Sunday, July 6 at 6:30PM PKT / 9:30AM EST with Sara Schmitt — COO of Adro (a U.S. fintech for international students), ex-Amazon, and a professor at Baruch and Yeshiva.
She’ll be answering all the stuff you actually want to know:
💰 How to budget + open your U.S. bank account
📝 What a good resume looks like
🤝 How to network (even if you're shy)
📚 Adapting to U.S. classrooms
It’ll be 40 mins of moderated Q&A + 15 mins for your own questions.
📍 RSVP here to get the Google Meet link: WEBINAR
If you're moving this fall (or know someone who is), come through!
Every week, I get DMs like:
“Do you know anyone moving to Chicago?” “Need a roommate in NYC — any leads?”
So we built something simple to help.
📝 Fill this quick Roommate Finder form → Roommate Finder
📍We’ll send back the full list to everyone who fills it.
Search by city, school, or budget — and message directly.
Let’s make this move a little less stressful and a lot more connected
🎤DC Networking Mixer Recap
DC was amazing — we hosted 80+ Pakistani professionals, and the room had energy, warmth, and job leads flying around. One person even made a WhatsApp group on the spot — folks are now sharing events, jobs, and more.
Next up: NYC, July 20.
And this time...we’re hosting it at a location that’s had events by Louis Vuitton, Versace, and Nick Jonas.
Sometimes I pause and think — how did a guy from Taxila end up hosting panels in the same venues as these folks? Wild.
If you’re in NYC, come say hi.
Huge shoutout to TapTap Send for backing these events. If you’re sending money to Pakistan, they’re simple, fast — and charge zero fees.

My undergrad CGPA (2.61) story went viral

I posted about my undergrad CGPA (2.61) and how I turned it around. That post resonated with so many people and hit nearly 1 million views— apparently, a lot of us have had rocky starts.
Most common question:
"How did you still get into a Master’s program at Northeastern?"
Answer: I focused on what I could control —
✅ 3–4 years of strong work experience
✅ 320+ GRE
✅ Passed CFA
But also — I know people with <3.0 GPAs and <310 GREs who got into Duke or got full rides at Purdue.
Bottom line: never hurts to apply.
Let me know what question I should answer next
💼 More Remote Jobs
My friends at Outpost are still hiring from Pakistan. Some roles pay up to $3,200/month.
